CRAWAH and UTG Convene First PCC Meeting for CHES Scale-Up Project

On the 12th September, 2025, the inaugural meeting of the Project Coordination Committee (PCC) was held for the new 4-year project on Scaling up Comprehensive Health and Sexuality Education (CHES) in The Gambia.

The project is implemented by Center for Research and Advocacy on Women and Adolescent Health (CRAWAH) and The University of The Gambia (UTG), in collaboration with key partners including MoBSE, MoH, CSOs, NGOs, the National Youth Council, and community stakeholders.

This project is Funded by IDRC, the project aims to:

• Strengthen access to quality CHES for in-school and out-of-school adolescents.

• Empower young people with accurate health and sexuality information.

• Foster stronger collaboration between education, health, and community actors.

Implementation will cover two regions: Region 6 (rural) and Western 2 (semi-urban), ensuring both rural and semi-urban adolescents benefit from this important initiative.
