As part of the Comprehensive Health and Sexuality Education Scale-Up Project, a team comprising the Principal Investigator, Dr. Jainaba Sey, the Co–Principal Investigator, Mrs. Phebian I.G. Sagnia, the UTG Communications Officer, Mr. Sheikh Tijan, and the CRAWAH Communications Officer, Mr. Ebrima Barry, conducted a series of courtesy visits to key regional stakeholders in the West Coast Region.

The team visited the Brikama Area Council, the Governor’s Office, the Regional Health Directorate (Western 2), and the Regional Education Directorate where they met with the CEO, Deputy Governor, Director of Regional Health Directorate, Principal Education Officer, Madrasa Education Officer and Senior Education Officer respectively.

During the engagements, the team introduced and briefed the officials on the project’s goals and shared the concept note for deeper understanding. The visits emphasized the importance of collaboration as these offices are the points of entry for the upcoming research with both in and out of school adolescents in the West Coast Region.

Requests were made for partnership in key areas:

• The Governor and Area Council to link the project with VDCs and Ward Councilors,

• The Health Directorate to identify community health workers, and

• The Education Directorate to help identify Cluster Monitors for Upper Basic, Senior Secondary, and Madrasa schools.

All institutions warmly welcomed the initiative, commended the team, and pledged full support for the success of the project. They recognized its value in improving the knowledge, attitudes, and understanding of Comprehensive Health and Sexuality Education across schools and communities over the next four years.
